WORCESTER—Pleasant Street is getting a boost with a $125,000 grant from MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative Local Program, city officials announced.

This initiative aims to revitalize the neighborhood’s commercial district through various projects, including storefront improvements, business relocation support, and a branding initiative.

Property and business owners along Pleasant Street between Main Street and Park Ave. are eligible for up to $20,000 in grants for storefront improvement projects.

The program, assisted by Worcester Common Ground, is an extension of a previous initiative and targets occupied buildings needing upgrades to enhance the area’s appeal for residents, visitors, shoppers, and workers. Eligible improvements include facade restoration, lighting enhancements, security measures, and more.

The initiative supports locally-driven small business programs tailored to Worcester’s unique needs.
