FITCHBURG—A Fitchburg man is being charged with murder and two others are being charged with assault and battery in connection with the stabbing death of 20-year-old Robert Wright-Day in Leominster on Tuesday, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

Juan Diaz Contreras, 19, was arrested on a warrant Thursday night at his home.

After an investigation, two others were arrested on warrants, including Edgar K. Perez-Tuero, 21, of Gardner, and Christian Joel Santiago, 19, of Leominster.

Just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Leominster Police responded to the report of a stabbing outside of the Riverside Village Apartment complex on State Street. When they arrived on the scene, they found Wright-Day suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Leominster Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

All three men were arraigned Friday in Fitchburg District Court.
