Don’t worry about paying for parking on Small Business Saturday

WORCESTER–Don’t worry about paying for parking in Worcester. At least on Small Business Saturday.

City Manager Eric D. Batista announced that special parking rates for upcoming community festivities in “an effort to support the local business economy.”

Parking will be free at select municipal lots and garages for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25. A special rate of $1 will be in effect for the annual Festival of Lights, the Canal District Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting, and stART at the Station.

“When Worcester residents shop local, they not only support the local business community, but an entire supply chain of local distributors,” said the announcement. “The city is full of independent retailers, artisans, makers, boutique grocers and more offering a wide variety of goods and services, along with many local entertainment attractions offering family-friendly fun throughout the year.”

Here are the special rates:

  • Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25
    Free parking all day at Union Station Garage, Green Street Lot, Water Street Lot, and Millbury Street Lot
  • Festival of Lights, Friday, Dec. 1
    $1 evening rate starting at 4 p.m. at Worcester Common Garage and Union Station Garage
  • Canal District Stroll and Tree Lighting, Saturday, Dec. 2
    $1 all-day rate at Union Station Garage, Green Street Lot, Water Street Lot, and Millbury Street Lot
  • stART at the Station, Sunday, Dec. 3
    $1 all-day rate at Union Station Garage, Green Street Lot, Water Street Lot, and Millbury Street Lot
