Fatal motorcycle crash on Shrewsbury Street under investigation

A Westborough man is dead after an early morning crash on Shrewsbury Street Monday

WORCESTER—The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, officers responded to a report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in the area of 465 Shrewsbury Street.

When they arrived, officers found the motorcycle operator, a 26-year-old man from Westborough, had sustained fatal injuries. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Initial findings from the investigation suggest that the motorcyclist was traveling at a very high speed when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn, with the impact throwing the driver from his bike. While the vehicle was damaged, its occupants were unharmed.
