WORCESTER—Amanda Belichick, head coach of the Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team, has been elected to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Board of Directors as a Division I representative, the IWLCA announced this week. Her term begins July 1, 2025.

Belichick has led the Crusaders for the past decade and was named the 2024 Patriot League Coach of the Year after guiding the team to a 12-win season and a second straight trip to the conference semifinals. Under her leadership, the team tied the program record for conference wins and set new single-season records in points, goals, and assists.

In addition to her role on the sidelines, Belichick chairs the IWLCA’s Rules, Safety and Game Administration committee and works closely with both the Collegiate Women’s Lacrosse Officials Association (CWLOA) and the NCAA Rules Committee.

The IWLCA restructured its board in 2017 to ensure balanced representation across NCAA divisions, with three seats each for Divisions I, II, III, and the NAIA. Belichick’s election reflects her growing influence in the sport at the national level.

Though widely respected in lacrosse circles for her coaching and advocacy, Belichick may also be a familiar name to football fans—she is the daughter of legendary former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who now leads the football program at the University of North Carolina.

Before taking the helm at Holy Cross, Amanda Belichick held coaching roles at UMass, Ohio State, and Wesleyan University, her alma mater. Over her 10 seasons with the Crusaders, she has consistently built competitive teams and produced standout individual performers, with several players ranking among national statistical leaders in recent years.

As a member of the IWLCA Board, Belichick will help guide the direction of the sport at a critical moment for collegiate women’s athletics.
