WORCESTER—The Holy Cross men’s hockey team is set to continue its postseason run this weekend, hosting Army in the semifinals of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament at the Hart Center.
The Crusaders (21-13-2) enter the series as the tournament’s top seed after a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over American International College in the quarterfinals. Junior forward Michael Abgrall delivered the game-winning goal in overtime, sending Holy Cross to its second consecutive semifinal appearance.
The best-of-three series against fifth-seeded Army begins Friday at 7 p.m., with game 2 scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. If necessary, a decisive game 3 takes place Sunday at 5 p.m.
A series win would give Holy Cross the chance to host the Atlantic Hockey championship game for the first time since 2006.
In addition to the action on the ice, fans attending the semifinal games have the chance to receive rally towels and enter to win exclusive prizes, including a signed “Work Hart” hard hat and vest, as well as an official Crusader hockey sweater.
Holy Cross looks to build on its strong defensive play and special teams success against an Army squad that upset second-seeded RIT in the quarterfinals.
Tickets for the semifinal series are available through the Holy Cross athletics website.
