Man indicted for manslaughter in brother’s fatal shooting

Worcester County grand jury moves case to Superior Court

WORCESTER—A Worcester County grand jury has indicted a Northbridge man on a manslaughter charge in the shooting death of his brother, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Christopher Lacour, 33, was indicted last week in connection with the May 21 death of his brother, 36-year-old Jonathan Lacour.

On that date, Northbridge Police responded to Legion Way and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, according to the DA’s office.

The defendant was initially charged in Uxbridge District Court in May with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and manslaughter. The indictment transfers the case to Worcester Superior Court, where Lacour is expected to be arraigned on Oct. 21.
