WORCESTER—Quinsigamond Community College has hit its highest enrollment in more than a decade, welcoming approximately 9,000 students for the fall 2025 semester.
The milestone marks QCC’s largest student body since 2012, a surge college officials say is tied to state tuition assistance programs and expanded campus services. Initiatives such as MassEducate and MassReconnect, which cover tuition and fees for qualifying Massachusetts residents, have played a major role in driving growth.
“This record-breaking enrollment has brought thousands of students on our campus, filled with hopes and dreams,” QCC President Luis Pedraja, Ph.D., said in the announcement. “They have come prepared to embrace new beginnings, experience many firsts and pursue a brighter future for themselves and their families.”
Alongside the enrollment boost, QCC has broadened student support services. The college recently opened a First-Generation Student Support Center aimed at the roughly 4,400 students who are the first in their families to attend college. The center offers academic coaching, workshops, and resources to help students navigate higher education.
To streamline operations, the college has consolidated testing, career, and transfer services with the new center, creating a one-stop hub to guide students from their first day on campus through graduation, transfer, or career placement.
“We are working to ensure students have the resources, guidance, and encouragement they need to overcome challenges and reach their full potential,” Pedraja said.
