WORCESTER—The Shore Drive area is dealing with its second water main break, this one at the intersection of the I-190 southbound frontage road and Shore Drive near the YMCA, city officials announced Tuesday.
According to the city’s statement, the break has been isolated and water service in the immediate area is off. System pressure and flow are increasing but are not expected to fully stabilize until sometime overnight. Residents in the area should expect discolored water during the recovery period.
Several roads are shut down while repairs are underway. The I-190 southbound frontage road is closed, and Shore Drive is closed from the YMCA to Norton Drive, which is also closed to traffic.
The city urged residents to report issues or concerns through Worcester 311 by phone, email, the website or the mobile app.
“Updates will be shared as they become available,” the announcement said.
