WORCESTER— United Way of Central Massachusetts just announced that it has received a $42,500 donation from Eversource Energy, a steadfast supporter of United Way agencies across New England.
The contribution is part of a larger $2.6 million commitment from Eversource employees and the Eversource Foundation to United Way organizations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. According to the announcement, the funds will bolster United Way of Central MA’s vital programs, enhancing health, education, and financial stability services for local families and individuals.
“This gift is fabulous!” said President and CEO Tim Garvin in a press release. “Coupled with thousands of other contributions and support from corporate and business leaders this funding remains essential to our work and success within the community. The generous support from the Eversource Foundation, as well as the consistent dedication of Eversource employees to volunteer their own time and dollars, helps support high-impact programs in youth opportunities and financial security while creating a healthier, resilient livelihood for families throughout central Massachusetts.”

The donations from Eversource include more than $2.6 million collected during the company’s six-week employee and retiree annual fundraising effort, helping to connect thousands of people in need with community services through United Way agencies, according to the announcement. Additionally, hundreds of Eversource employees volunteered at events across its service territory in support of local United Way organizations.
