WORCESTER—The staff at the Worcester Public Library wants the community to get ready for a paws-itively awesome summer, especially at the library. Following the roaring success of March Meowness, WPL is unleashing a new wave of excitement with its 2024 “Dog Days of Summer Reading” program, starting Saturday, June 15.
Not to worry. “Dog days of summer reading” does not assume that our fellow canines are going to be able to understand the written word. No, it is where participants of all ages can fetch prizes just for reading and joining programs at Worcester’s libraries.
From June 15 to Aug. 10, WPL has a jam-packed schedule of free, in-person and virtual events lined up Patrons can register anytime at https://mywpl.beanstack.org/ and start earning prizes starting June 15.
Join WPL across all seven library locations for the fun-filled Celebrate Summer! events to kick off summer reading:
- Main Library: Saturday, June 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Roosevelt Branch: Monday, June 17, 4–5 p.m.
- Burncoat Branch: Tuesday, June 18, 4–5 p.m.
- Great Brook Valley & Goddard Branches: Thursday, June 20, 3–5 p.m.
- Tatnuck Magnet Branch: Friday, June 21, 4–5 p.m.
- Frances Perkins Branch: Monday, June 24, 3–5 p.m.
Dive into an exciting lineup featuring de-stress sessions with dogs, meet-and-greets with service dogs, and tail-wagging crafts and storytimes. Plus, show off your furry friend by having their photo proudly displayed in the library.
