WORCESTER—A Worcester Superior Court jury has found Jacob Grice, 39, guilty of first-degree murder in the August 2020 killing of Darren Dyette on King Street, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. announced.
The conviction, reached after a 10-day trial, carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Grice is scheduled to be sentenced on March 12.
In addition to the murder charge, the jury also convicted Grice of possession of ammunition without a firearm identification (FID) card.
A second individual, Amber L. Gravel, 31, has also been charged in connection with Dyette’s killing. Gravel was arraigned on a murder charge in November 2020 and is being held without bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 6.
“I want to thank our prosecution team of Assistant District Attorneys David Feraco and Shayna Woodard, as well as Victim Witness Advocate Margaret Rwaramba, for their hard work on this case,” Early said in a statement. “I also would like to thank the Worcester Police Department for their thorough and diligent work in pursuit of justice.”
