Five Central Massachusetts nonprofits are among more than 150 organizations that received charitable funding from Beacon Bank and its foundation during the third quarter of 2026, part of a philanthropic investment totaling more than $460,000 across five states.
The bank announced Monday, Oct. 26, that the funding was distributed between July and September to nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Among the Central Massachusetts recipients were Habitat for Humanity Metrowest – Greater Worcester, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester, Provision Ministry Inc., the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
The organizations represent a range of community services, including affordable housing, adult literacy, research and education, and health and wellness programs.
“The work of local nonprofits touches every corner of our communities, from meeting immediate needs to creating opportunities for long-term success,” Elizabeth Mineo, president of Beacon Bank’s Worcester region, said in a statement announcing the funding. “Our commitment to supporting these organizations reflects our belief that meaningful change begins at the local level.”
The bank did not disclose how much each organization received or what portion of the $460,000 was awarded to nonprofits in Central Massachusetts.
According to the announcement, Beacon Bank directs its charitable giving toward three primary areas: neighborhood revitalization and preservation, education and critical services.
The latest round of funding reflects the bank’s ongoing support of nonprofit organizations throughout its regional footprint, which includes 11 branches in Central Massachusetts. Four are located in Worcester, with additional branches in Holden, Leominster, Milford, Shrewsbury, Webster, Westborough and West Boylston.
Headquartered in Boston, Beacon Bank is a subsidiary of Beacon Financial Corporation and reports $21.9 billion in assets. The bank operates more than 145 branches throughout New England and New York.
