WORCESTER—As summer heats up (and how!), the city offers residents a range of ways to cool down — from sandy beaches to splash-worthy spray parks.

The 2025 program officially launches Friday, June 27, with the full opening of four public beaches: Bell Pond, Coes Pond, Indian Lake, and Shore Park.

The beaches are fully staffed and open daily from noon to 7 p.m. through Aug. 23, part of an ongoing partnership between the city and the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to provide lifeguards and facility staff.

Here’s where you can dive in this summer:

  • Bell Pond Beach – 239 Belmont St.
  • Coes Pond Beach – 200 Mill St.
  • Indian Lake Beach – 500 Salisbury St.
  • Shore Park Beach – 115 Shore Dr.

In addition to the beaches, East Park Spray Park (143 Shrewsbury St.) and Greenwood Spray Park (14 Forsberg St.) are already open, having kicked off the summer season on June 20. Spray parks are free and open to all ages, seven days a week from noon to 7 p.m., and will remain open through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1.

The Crompton Park Pool (50 Canton St.) and University Park Spray Park (965 Main St.) will open at a later date, with city officials promising announcements soon.

Whether you’re looking to swim, splash, or simply lounge waterside, the city’s lineup of aquatic options is designed to give Worcester residents a much-needed summer escape — no beach traffic required.
