WORCESTER—The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Commissioner Dr. Robbie Goldstein visit Worcester on Wednesday, Oct. 2, to join local officials and the Family Health Center of Worcester (FHCW) in hosting a vaccination clinic at South High Community School.

The event is part of FHCW’s School-Based Health Center Program, which has been providing preventive and primary care services to students in Worcester Public Schools for more than 20 years.

The clinic, which will take place at 11 a.m., highlights the importance of school-based health centers in delivering accessible healthcare to students during school hours, according to the announcement. The program connects students with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other resources from FHCW, offering essential services such as vaccinations directly in the school environment.

In addition to the clinic, the event features a roundtable discussion titled “Caring for the Future: Student Voices at South High.” Worcester Public Schools students will share their experiences with the health center program, offering insights into how it has impacted their well-being.

Dr. Rachel H. Monárrez, superintendent of Worcester Public Schools, joins Goldstein and other school administrators for the event, along with key leaders from FHCW. The roundtable aims to underscore the role of school-based health centers in supporting students’ health and success.

The clinic and discussion will be held at South High Community School, located at 170 Apricot St.
