WORCESTER—Quinsigamond Community College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic is helping seniors and veterans smile brighter with free preventative dental services.

The clinic, located at QCC’s West Boylston Street campus, offers dental assessments, teeth cleaning, x-rays, and fluoride treatments for anyone aged 55 or older, as well as active military members and veterans.

For those outside these categories, services are still kept affordable—$25 for adults and $20 for children.

“We currently have a relationship with Senior Connection (formerly Central Mass. Agency on Aging) through a grant that gives our senior patients free services in the dental clinic,” said Sheryl Ficorilli, QCC’s Dental Clinic Operations and Facilities manager, in a statement.

The grant, which launched in January 2022, has already supported over 750 senior patients. It also includes free transportation to and from the clinic, making dental care more accessible.

In addition to serving the community, the program provides invaluable training opportunities for QCC’s dental hygiene students, who are required to complete direct patient care hours as part of their education.

“This helps our students gain the necessary skills to graduate and become active in the area dental community,” Ficorilli said.
