WORCESTER—The city’s now accepting nominations for the 26th annual Woman of Consequence and the 22nd annual Young Woman of Consequence awards, which honor women making a meaningful impact in the community. Presented by the Worcester Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, this year’s awards theme is “Empathy in Action.”
The Woman of Consequence Award recognizes a woman who lives, works, or volunteers in Worcester and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and compassion, serving as a role model for community engagement. The Young Woman of Consequence Award is given to a high school junior or senior in Worcester who has shown leadership and tangible results as an agent of change.
This year, the Young Woman of Consequence Award winner gets a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year) toward tuition at Assumption University. Additionally, all nominees for the Young Woman of Consequence Award will be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year) toward tuition at Assumption University if they choose to attend.
