WORCESTER—Worcester Public Schools (WPS) graduates now have a guaranteed spot at Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), thanks to a new partnership aimed at removing barriers to higher education.
Starting with the Class of 2025, all WPS seniors receive automatic acceptance to QCC, and qualifying students can attend tuition-free through the state’s MassEducate program.
“This partnership with QCC is a transformative step in ensuring every scholar has a clear and attainable pathway to success,” WPS Superintendent Dr. Rachel H. Monárrez said in the announcement. “By removing barriers to college access, we are empowering our scholars to pursue meaningful futures.”
QCC President Dr. Luis G. Pedraja called the collaboration a “historic partnership” that will open doors for more students while strengthening the workforce of tomorrow. The initiative was championed by QCC’s Vice President for Strategic Enrollment & Student Engagement, Michelle Tufau Afriyie.
Worcester Public Schools serves nearly 25,000 students, with close to 1,900 expected to graduate this year.
