WORCESTER—Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) contributed $349.8 million to the regional economy in fiscal year 2022-23, according to a new economic impact study conducted by Lightcast.
The report highlights the college’s influence on local jobs, student earnings, and the return on investment for students, taxpayers, and society at large.
The study shows that QCC’s operations, construction spending, student expenditures, and alumni presence supported 3,930 regional jobs. Alumni alone contributed $276.9 million to the economy, sustaining 2,738 jobs.
“This study demonstrates how QCC facilitates student and regional success,” said QCC President Luis G. Pedraja, Ph.D., in a statement.
The study also highlighted that taxpayers gain $1.30 for every dollar invested in QCC, while society reaps $7 in added revenue and savings per dollar.
